GHK-Cu Dosage Calculator

GHK-Cu is supplied in large 50 mg and 100 mg lyophilised vials, so it is normally reconstituted with 5-10 mL of bacteriostatic water rather than the 2 mL used for small peptide vials.

The formula

Concentration (mg/mL) = vial strength (mg) ÷ bacteriostatic water (mL). Draw volume (mL) = dose (mg) ÷ concentration (mg/mL). On a U-100 insulin syringe, units = draw volume (mL) × 100. For GHK-Cu: a 50 mg vial in 5 mL of water is 10 mg/mL, so a 2 mg dose is 0.2 mL — 20 units.

How to reconstitute a GHK-Cu vial

  1. 1. Bring the vial to room temperature. Let a refrigerated or frozen vial equilibrate before opening so condensation doesn't form on the powder.
  2. 2. Swab both stoppers. Wipe the GHK-Cu vial and the bacteriostatic water vial with alcohol and let them dry.
  3. 3. Draw your diluent. Pull the volume you entered above into the syringe.
  4. 4. Run it down the glass wall. Angle the needle so water flows down the side of the vial rather than jetting onto the peptide cake — shear and foaming degrade peptides.
  5. 5. Swirl, never shake. Roll the vial gently until fully clear. Do not vortex or shake.
  6. 6. Label and refrigerate. Mark the date and concentration, then store at 2-8 °C away from light.

5 mL is the common choice and gives a 10 mg/mL solution, so a 2 mg draw is 0.2 mL — 20 units on a U-100 insulin syringe, with 25 draws per vial.

How do you calculate a GHK-Cu dose in syringe units?

Divide the vial strength by the bacteriostatic water you added to get the concentration: concentration (mg/mL) = vial mg ÷ water mL. Then draw volume (mL) = dose (mg) ÷ concentration. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1.0 mL is 100 units, so units = draw volume × 100.

Does adding more water change how much GHK-Cu is in the vial?

No. The vial holds a fixed mass of lyophilised powder. More bacteriostatic water only dilutes it — each syringe unit carries less compound and the draw volume for the same dose gets larger, which can make small doses easier to measure accurately.

How is reconstituted GHK-Cu stored?

After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, research peptides are kept refrigerated at 2-8 °C, protected from light, and away from freeze-thaw cycles. Unreconstituted lyophilised vials are far more stable and are typically stored frozen.
