Lyophilized peptide (unopened)

Store at −20 °C for long-term storage (>3 months) or 2–8 °C for short-term. Keep desiccated. Lyophilized peptide stored correctly is generally stable for 2+ years.

Reconstituted peptide

Once reconstituted in bacteriostatic water, most peptides are stable at 2–8 °C for ~30 days. For longer storage, aliquot and freeze at −20 °C or −80 °C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles — each cycle degrades a percentage of the peptide.

Solvent choice

Bacteriostatic water is standard for most peptides. Hydrophobic peptides may need dilute acetic acid or DMSO for initial dissolution. Never dissolve in a solvent your protocol doesn't require.

Freeze-thaw handling

Aliquot reconstituted peptide into single-use volumes before freezing. Thaw at 2–8 °C, not at room temperature or in warm water.
