GHK-Cu: the two very different use contexts

GHK-Cu appears in the literature in two separate formats, and the numbers do not transfer between them.

Topical. Cosmetic and dermatology studies typically use formulations in the 0.05%–3% range applied once or twice daily. Most published skin studies sit near 1%–2%.

Reconstituted solution. Laboratory studies of subcutaneous administration commonly report 1–2 mg per administration, with study protocols running daily or five-days-on schedules over 4–8 week windows.

Making a topical solution from a lyophilized vial

A 50 mg vial in 5 mL of sterile or bacteriostatic water gives 10 mg/mL — a 1% solution. 100 mg in 5 mL gives 2%. GHK-Cu solution is a deep blue; that color is the copper complex and is expected.

Stability notes

Copper peptides are light-sensitive. Keep reconstituted GHK-Cu refrigerated and in an amber or foil-shielded vial, and avoid mixing with strong reducing agents such as high-concentration vitamin C in the same preparation — the literature reports complex destabilization.
