Vial Fill Accuracy and Lyophilization Quality
Fill accuracy
Fill is verified gravimetrically. A supplier that under-fills systematically produces material that appears less potent regardless of purity.
Lyophilization quality
A properly lyophilized cake is uniform and intact. A collapsed or melted-looking cake indicates a failed freeze-drying cycle and typically correlates with elevated residual moisture.
Moisture
Karl Fischer titration quantifies residual water. High moisture shortens shelf life materially.
