Tirzepatide research vials are commonly supplied at 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg and 30 mg. The reconstitution decision is a single trade-off: less water means a smaller draw volume, more water means finer resolution on the syringe.
Worked examples
A 20 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water yields 10 mg/mL. A 2.5 mg research dose is 0.25 mL, or 25 units on a U-100 syringe, giving 8 doses per vial.
The same 20 mg vial with 4 mL yields 5 mg/mL; the same 2.5 mg dose is now 50 units. The peptide mass drawn is identical — only the measurement resolution changed.
Titration-style protocols
Research protocols that step a dose across weeks benefit from a single concentration for the entire series, so the only variable that changes is the tick mark. Reconstituting each new vial to the same mg/mL keeps the series internally consistent.
